MANUEL-TURIZO

Manuel Turizo (full name Manuel Turizo Zapata) is an urbano and reggaeton singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Colombia whose trademark is his smooth buttery tenor singing voice. His work has led to major international inroads into the Latin popular music scene. His 2016 hit Una Lady Como Tu was the recipient of the Colombian Kids Choice Award for Most Popular Song in 2017. His debut album ADN came out through La Industria Inc., located in Medellin, a Sony distribution firm. It reached the top 8 spot within the Top Latin Albums Chart. Later in the year, he joined forces with Ozuna for the creation of Vaina Loca that was which was a Top Five hit. In the year 2020, he debuted his charting sophomore album Dopamina and co-wrote Mala Influencia with Noriel. In 2021, he performed in a duo performance with TINI on her cult music video Maldita Foto. In 2023, 2000 with the smash hit La Bachata was released. Turizo was raised in an musical family. His father and brother are both musicians. Interviews with him have described participating in music as compulsory. At the age of a young child, he started learning to play the ukulele, saxophone as well as piano. His initial goal was to be a veterinarian, his brother Julian got him to attend lessons in singing with an Cuban teacher.
